HSS Strat question: PG with a mag swap = PG+

OK, I'm chasing down a PG+ to go with a pair of Area '61s in an HSS Mexi Strat.

This will be wired for autosplit at position 2, volume will be an RS 280K SuperPot, master tone will be a CTS 250K, the "second tone" knob will actually be a piezo volume, Callaham trem block, etc.

The only PG+ pickups I'm finding these days have double white bobbins which doesn't really go with the theme I had in mind for this guitar. So my question is...

If the PG has A2 magnets and the PG+ has A5 magnets, how close would an A5 magnet swap in a PG get me toward a PG+? Or are the winds completely different between a PG and PG+ and I'm wasting my time?

Even better, does anyone have a reasonably priced source for a (four-conductor) PG+ with double black bobbins? Can I get PG+ custom wound at the SD custom shop?

nope, gotta get it from fender but a normal pearly gates with an alnico V magnet will be very close to a pg+

Its double parchment white (inbetween cream and white). They come as double black too. The PG+ is annoying thin/bright in my book (and i like bright pickups like 59 and Screaming Demon). I would recommend a cover.
I also swapped an A2 and a A8 into my PG+ still a litte thin and bright. Be sure to work with 250k volume and a decent tone pot to tame the brightness. BTW i had the PG+ with a A2 in my Les Paul and compared it a stock PGB. This PG+ is way brighter and thinner, while the PGB is a little lower in volume but fuller.

I would go instead for a PATB 3. The looks are a little different, but they are a clear sounding PAF style pup designed to make a strat sound thicker. They also will split better than most pafs.
