HSS using Fender Lone Star schematic

I have a JB Trembucker for the bridge and two GFS 60's-70's Grey Bottom Non Stagger single coils for the neck and middle positions. I’m trying to get the most out of each type of pickup with the least compromise, so I am thinking one master volume, one tone for the neck and mid single coils and a tone for the bridge humbucker, which I believe the Lone Star schematic accomplishes (see page 3 of the schematic linked here): http://support.fender.com/service_diagrams/stratocaster/010-7900_02B_SISD.pdf. At this time, I want to avoid any additional switches or stacked pots, etc.

A few questions:

(1) Currently, I’m not too concerned with splitting the HB in position 1. If so, can I use a regular Strat five way switch in place of the super switch shown? I assume position 2 would be bridge and mid with both tone controls.

(2) The Lone Star uses all 250K pots and the JB is often used with a 250K tone pot. However, I want to ensure the JB maintains good upper-midrange honk and clarity so, I’m thinking of going with a 500k tone pot and low value capacitor (around .01 uf) for the second tone control.

Would appreciate any confirmation or correction to my thinking. Thanks.
