HSS Wiring Help

Hi Guys new here, I just put in a JB humbucker bridge and two vintage rails into my mex strat. I followed SD diagrams for the rails and for the JB, everything seems to work exept now the volume drops to off at about 7. Then thinking I did something wrong I found a diagram for 5 way auto split. should I have done that instead. The auto split looks like the way fender did it.?
Am I losing some volume potential the way I have it wirered, the Rails are quieter than the JB. THANKS

Re: HSS Wiring Help

Can you explain that a little better? Do you mean that as you turn the volume up, you get to 7 and it starts to drop off again? So, there's a peak in your volume pot?

Re: HSS Wiring Help

The JB is supposed to be louder than the Vintage Rails pickups.

Auto coil split on a bridge position humbucker in selector switch position #2 is usually achieved using the second set of contacts on the selector switch. (The same set that Fender conventionally uses for connecting up two Tone controls.)

If a volume pot goes to zero level when set to 7 out of 10, you have wired something in the wrong way about. Observed from the underside, the pot contacts should be (left to right) signal input, signal output, ground. I suspect that you have made a ground connection to the middle contact.

Photographs of your wiring would speed up our ability to assist you.

Re: HSS Wiring Help

Thanks for the input guys, just to clarify the volume is off until I get to 7-10 at 10 sounds good. I expected the rails to be quieter than the JB. But I want to make sure I'm getting the full potenial out of everything. I'll have to tear it down again to look at what I did. I'm pretty sure I have the pups wired right. Not sure about tone pot connections may have put them to the wrong terminal. I believe I wired it like the SD diagram for 5 way, I know I didn't wire it for 5 way auto switch.(didn't care about that unless I have to) I'll tear it down and if I can't figure out the mistake I'll take a picture. Thanks again for your responses
