Ok so i sprayed some tuner stuff into the slots into the scratchy pots and let sit for a while with the backplate off. Now though it seems to of makin it worse... no theres no sound on my pots at all unless i turn them up full volume... go figure... What now? are my pots just totally done for?? i have cts replacement pots coming but they arent comin for another couple days now because of a shipping problem and i have a gig in 2 days sooo any way to fix this?? the sound does come on normal though when i lift the knobs up with my finger.. but I cant play while keeping my pinky finger on the bottom of the knob keeping it pushed up..
Edit- now there is sound but it plays like its on volume one unless i push the volume knobs up.

Can you give us the specific stuff you used?

Re: Huge trouble with pots not.

If it was a contact cleaner, it would have evaporated away in seconds. Either way, it wouldn't cause what you're experiencing. You just have bad pots.

Re: Huge trouble with pots not.

Worst case, you could wire around them. But I'd try to find some replacements, even if they're cheapos, so you can have something for the gig.
