I've never tried this model, but I own a Triamp and have played an Attax combo. I would venture to guess it won't give you that type of tone.
My Triamp has a pretty great high gain channel, but it's not really "thrash". I can get Metallica tones pretty well, but not spot on like something like an ENGL would.
Have you ever considered Randall? IMHO that would be a good company that should offer a rawer more hardcore distortion. I believe Dimebag Darrell uses the Warheads.
Not to say that the Line6 stuff isn't good, because I think the Vetta kicks and I really want to try the Vetta II. However, I don't think the Flextone will be the type of amp you need.
