Hum cancelling Tele neck PUP

Hi Guys,

Again it's been a while,

I have a Mexican tele with hotrails in the bridge and the stock single coil tele neck pickup,
I've had to lower the HR and raise the neck pickup a good bit to baclance them volume wise but it's a very good sounding and versatile setup.
The HR covers and rock rhythm and leads nicely, middle and neck positions on the 3 way switch cover nice cleans and bluesy lead.

I have to say I do like the tone from the neck pickup but could I improve it with a pickup upgrade?
Main thing I would like is a hum cancelling tele neck with maybe a tiny bit more output but not at the sacrifice of the glassy-ness of the stock pickup that's already in there.

Any thoughts on what might fit the bill?
Hot for tele neck?
quarter for tele pounder neck?
what's the Dimarzio Area T like?

Thanks guys!

Re: Hum cancelling Tele neck PUP

anything hum cancelling will lose the pure singlcoil tone.....as will adding extra oomph. The bad part about tele neck pickups is that they are small, oh, and they also have a tone robbing cover.

I'd serch for a winder called Zhangbucker, and ask him what you need.
Or closer to home there is The Creamery in the UK

Thanks Alex,

I'll checkout The Creamery, looks like good stuff.
Could you suggest anything that might be an upgrade to the Stock MIM tele neck?
Currently only the bridge position is hum cancelling (Hotrail) But middle position also has hum,
I'd assume if I had a Neck PUP RWRP with respect to the Hotrails Polarity that I could at least have 2 noise free positions?

Thanks

Re: Hum cancelling Tele neck PUP

There isn't such a thing as a single coil that is RWRP to a humbucker. It will be RWRP to one of the humbucker's coils but not the other, so you will still get some hum, just not as much as with the single coil by itself.
