Humbucker Bridge/Single Neck Tele

What would be a good set to give me the Strat neck tone and a good kicking HB tone in the bridge. Match well together, string through Alder bodied Tele.

Thanks

Re: Humbucker Bridge/Single Neck Tele

You could get a Duncan Custom shop tele-sized single wound a la strat. Lew has one, and I've not heard him berate it at all.

Or a Fralin Blues special-that's a bright, strong, chimey sounding neck pickup that's akin to a strat as well. I currently use it and am pretty happy with it. It is not covered so you won't have that jangley rhythm sound, but it is a great pickup-very open and percussive.

As for the bridge mix-I'd suggest a 59-although I've not tried that particular combination.

It actually has a full size single coil in the neck position.

Well, both single coil pickups I've mentioned are standard tele neck single-sized pickups, and should fit in a stock (to be modded :cool3: ) tele. What do you mean by "full-sized single coil?"

Sorry, I might have misunderstood your original post, but I assumed you wanted a single coil in the neck and a HB in the bridge...

It's a strat pickup in the neck. Sorry I'm near brain dead! :laugh2:
