Looking to replace my current humbucker with a metal covered humbucker in the bridge of my lonestar strat. Have screamin Demon in there now, but want something with more middle paf sound...Phave classic stacks in teh neck and middle with demeter mid boost preamp on board guitar.

was thinking 59 or seth lover?

Opinions? Advice?

Thanks

What about the Pearly Gates? They sound pretty good in the Texas Fat Strat.

the 59 could be the trip.

of corse, if you an get the seth get the seth. that would be the perfect pup for paf sounds...

More mids? Proibably an alnico 2 pickup then. Antiquity or Seth Lover or Pearly Gates would be nice.

A Custom Custom special ordered with a nickel cover would be cool too if you want something hotter than vintage. I use a covered CC in my Hamer Monoco.

Your guitar started life with an an alnico 5 Pearly Gates Plus I'll bet.

I don't think you'd perceive that much of a difference between the PG+ (which you still might have) and 59b.

Becareful tho, pickups with legs of standard Gibson buckers will not fit in there. That includes a 59b. But I think 59b trembucker comes with the shorter (e.g. those on the SD or the PG) legs.

The 59 is pretty hard to beat but it's split tones are pretty weak...I put an A2 "Hybrid" into one of my strats that measures around 11k or better...If I split the pickup it gets me around 7k and I get a nice overall amount of versatility from this pickup..I tryed some other bridge humbuckers in this particular strat but found I Liked this Hybrid the best...Another great strat pickup that sounds great and splits nice,is the CC...If you don't need split or parallel tones, the 59,Seth,or the PG are good...I also like the PG+ but it is a pretty bright pickup compared to these other pickups mentioned..

Thanks...

The one at the music store is a 59B metal cover single conductor or the other one is a seth lover metal cover bridge single conductor...wasn't planning on splitting the rear pickup. Just push/pull on volume control to turn neck pickup on in any given position. Have the onboard demeter fatboost to go with the neck and middle classic stacks also.

So will the 59b and seth lover fit in this strat? You would pick the seth lover?

My othere option is to go SSL-3 hot or hot stack and leave all single coil... But really want the sound of the humbucker and the look of the metal cover if the arm mounts will work?

We have been waiting for the duncan order for a while now..

Don't have the pearly gates anymore..I think the guy who replaced the pickups before might have it somewhere...
