hi there am new over here
o was planning on inserting a humbucker on my epiphone strat
i wanted to know if it would be recomended to do that?
am looking for a Metal sound more of apunk hardcore sound

dunno if its worth making a bigger hole on the bridge to insert one of the SH5 humbuckers or use the other one that are smaller?

which humbuckers to recommend for a strat that can make a decent hardcore punk tone?

is worth installing it on a strat?

Re: Humbucker On a Strat

I love Humbucker loaded strats. If the body is not routed for a humbucker, I would Go with a Hot Rail or Dimarzio makes some good single Coil sized humbuckers.

Yeah JB is a good choice but I have noticed with cheaper guitars Ceramic magnets are better, Alnico 5 and 2 really bring out the life of the guitar which if your epi strat is like my one friend you dont really want for playin hi gain. Sorry if it sounds like I am putting your guitar down I just didnt have any good experiences with one, I am pro cheap guitars still being awesome

Re: Humbucker On a Strat

you'll need more bass in your output if you aim for punk/hc. get an invader. i got it in my vintage mim strat in the bridge and it is a very good pup. it is also universal spacing so you don't have to worry about that.

hot rails! i have a strat i converted to a one pup guitar, and the hotrails in it is really great! its more versatile than people think.

that, or cool rails.
