Humbucker or Trembucker?

For standard tremelo, not locking or Floyd Rose, what would the result be to the tone and sound if you installed a Trembucker instead of the standard Humbucker?

What exactly is the difference in how they perform? I know it says something about pole pieces being properly aligned but shouldn't they be anyway? I read a review that said that for my Ibanez SA160 I should get the Trembucker, but the info I have read here at SD says I should just get the standard Humbucker.

I realise this has probably been covered here somewhere a trillion times!!

Any advice appreciated

Re: Humbucker or Trembucker?

Shouldn't be any tonal differences between the 2.Just the pole spacings being a bit wider to accomadate the floyd rose spacing if you use the trembucker..

Measure from the center from pole to pole 1-6. If its over 2" F-space, if its under 2" no f-space.

Re: Humbucker or Trembucker?

ther wont be a tone diff for sure. I suggest measuring your string spacecing from middle of lower E to middle of higher E. if it is greater than 2" the trmbuker is the one u need if less than 2' than the normal humbuker. The pole pieces for the trembucker have larger spacing for wider bridges like the Floyd.
I had a simlar tread here in this forum titled " humbucker or Trembuker Help make a choice". Cheak that out too.

Hi the pole pieces in a trembucker are wider spaced, as a floyd rrose bridge is a bit wider., than a gibson standard bridge. so to acco midate a the strings comfortably the trembuker is used for guitars with floyd s or a broader bridge.
The pole pieces in a normal humbuker properly align the strings for a fixed Tune-O-Matic bridge and most fixed bridges, the POLE pieces in a Trembuker align propely the strings in a Floyd guitar.
