Here's my personal shorthand to explain my personal experience:
Feel free to discuss, dispute, debate, debase, & contribute.

EMG's are like Ninja's: they're made to go fast.
DiMarzio's are like high end Euro sports car like Audis; they give the driver control to drive fast.
Duncan JB's are like 70's muscle cars: Looks, Sounds & Lives Loud & Fast: The Dunc Distortion is like the jacked versions, like Cobra, or 442, painted black primer.

Ditto for the DiMarzio Super Distortion: that's the Harley Davidson: it's the soundtrack to a bottle of Jack Daniel's, black leather jacket, and a Harley.

PAF's are like ATVs; less motor power, the driver's individuality shows as it goes into wide trails and territory the previous choices cannot.

Even moreso for Single Coil pickups: which is like a Mountain bike: the rider does all the work, with the control of a single tread track to turn on a dime.

The Frankenstrat is like a moto- cross bike. eschewing the Harley heavy metal pack, Eddie pioneered the Gibson guts with a Fender maple neck single-coilish bite, which is akin to mounting the engine of an ATV with the control of a single track bike to create wild offroad flips & tricks .

EMG's are like Time Trial bikes: they're made to go fast, but many don't find them comfy for long periods.
DiMarzio's are like modern race bikes; they give the cyclist cutting edge control and speed.
