Humbuckers for Basswood

I have a guitar made out of basswood. It has a 24" rosewood/maple neck and a vintage tremelo. I'm looking to get new humbuckers for it, but am unsure as to what I should get. For the bridge, I want something that can do distortion pretty well, but also do nice cleans. For the neck, I'm looking for something with rockin' distortion. If it has a nice clean, that's great, but if not, no big deal. I know basswood is supposed to be a bit bassier in sound compared to alder, so I dont' know if that means I should look into pickups that concentrate on the mid and high frequencies. Any words of advice form you guys would be greatly appretiated.

well i have a 59 in the neck and a Duncan Distortion in the bridge of my ibanez rg 570 and its basswood. the 59 is great for acoustic, leads, and rock distortion. the Distortion is great for metal. you may want to substitute a JB in the bridge if you want better cleans out of the bridge.

I had a Custom in the bridge of my basswood RG for a while and from what I remember it was pretty versatile. Definitely on the more aggressive side of the spectrum though, but it sounded good both distorted and clean.

I was using a ’59 in the neck spot for a while, but it just sounded too glassy on the highs and lacked the mids I wanted to hear. I still think it's a nice pickup (VERY clear and "sings" with distortion), but not balanced and modern enough sounding to use all the time (to me). I recently replaced the neck pickup with a Tom Anderson H1+, which is much more balanced and full sounding. To me, it's what a standard modern neck pickup should sound like. I think it definitely works better with distortion too, for modern rock music.
