Humbuckers that pair well with the STK-S4n?

What are some examples of bridge humbuckers that ballance well with the STK-S4 neck?
ETA: I'm specifically looking at bridge humbuckers in the 8-9k neighborhood.

The JB has a proven track record with the SSL-1, which is the true single coil version of the STK-S4. Any of the Custom variants work as well. To be honest, just about any of SDs offerings work with the S4, so long as it's not a SLUG or anything. Just find a bridge HB you like and go for it.

If you want a BA rock machine, throw a Brobucker in the bridge. That's the first choice I made with my HSS Strat that had S4s in the neck and middle. I later replaced it with a 59/C, but that was because the Brobucker went into a Les Paul that I thought needed more oomph than provided by the 59 that I had in there.

Thanks, but I'm wanting to get rid of the JB that's paired with the STK-S4 in this particular guitar. It's just a huge mismatch in output that makes me not play the guitar, plus, JBs just aren't my thing. I'm looking at humbuckers in the 8-9k neighborhood for the bridge (I guess I should've mentioned that before).

Screamin' Demon, 59, Jazz, APH or Pearly Gates.

Custom and hotter are OK if you split them. Why this is so typically and inevitably overlooked when the typical suggestions are tossed out is a mystery to me.

An Invader, wired in parallel, would play nice in that. By doing parallel, you drop its output a bit, and give it a bit more "jangle". Perfect for a bridge Strat.

Edit: You could also wire the Strat with master vol/tone, and use the spare hole for a bridge "blower" switch, to bring the Invader back to full output series mode. This, of course, would work with any 4-wire HB'er.

Ok, that's what I was looking for. This is what I had suspected, but needed to verify it. I usually make a guess at the output by the DCR, but the DCR of the STK-S4 threw me off, especially not knowing if the stacked coils are ballanced, or slightly mismatched like the Fender N4. Plus, I'm still figuring out singles/stacked singles. I've been a hardcore humbucker guy up until recently.

Thanks, everybody!

DCR is useless in comparing singles with humbuckers, let alone stacked singles. It's also useless in comparing humbuckers unless they use the same gauge wire and same type of magnet.

All the pickups I suggested were based on reduced output and bright voicing.

That's why I asked. I've known for a long time that DCR is only a vague hint and that there's often more to it than that. I had a suspicion that the STK-S4's DCR wasn't going to help me at all, which is why I asked.

Thanks again. :beerchug:
