Humidifying Thinline Type guitar

Is this nessesary? I live just outside of Chicago, the weather changes at the drop of a hat here. My guitars are always kept indoors, so teperature is relatively stable once the seasons change. I have never had a problem with my solid body electrics, but I just purchased a hollow body (like a tele thinline) and I anm not sure about what to do- never owned one before. Any thoughts?
