Hygrometer.
Provided there is air movement, the entire room should have roughly the same humidity level.

Well, they have a sensor.....which measures the humidity where the sensor is. It is only as accurate to the whole room depending on the evenness of the climate.
The upside is, that unless you have bolted it to the floor, you can walk with said sensor to different parts of the room with the meter to see precisely what is going on.
Also be aware that most will measure relative humidity.......as the the amount of moisture in the air as a percentage of the maximum that the current temperature will allow. As the temperature gets hotter, you can have more dissolved water in the air.
