Hybrid coils phase?

I'll preface this with a disclaimer that I am fairly new to the pickup scene, and I apologize if this has been detailed somewhere else. I was not able to find much right off the bat in my searches.

I'm considering creating a hybrid using two slug coils. As I understand, the current of the two coils of a humbucker flow in opposite directions in order to achieve phase cancellation.

So if using two slug coils, could I simply swap the leads on one of the coils to reverse the current flow, thereby making it function as a "normal" humbucker? Is there anything else at play here that I should be aware of?

Thank you gentlemen.

Yep that's it. Just connect them in series using a start from both coils or a finish from both coils.

When going inside a pickup to the coil leads, you go past the 4 conductor colours. The coil wires are only black and white. So two of the same colour are attached as the series link if they are duncan colours. Then the other colour leads are attached to the hot and ground output.
