What would a 59/Jazz hybrid sound like compared to a Jazz neck?

What would a 59/C5 hybrid sound like compared to a JB/C5 in the bridge?

I've got a JB/C5 hybrid I love and want to put some more hybrids in another guitar...

I'm just guessing on this one, but since the DC resistance of both pups is so close, I'd guess the difference to be very subtle. Like maybe the same as the difference between changing string brand.

What would a 59/C5 hybrid sound like compared to a JB/C5 in the bridge?

Again, the difference between the C5 and JB is fairly small. (The coils, not the pups.) I don't imagine a C5/JB to sound much different than a C5 or JB alone.

But this is all a guess based on my small experience with hybrids.

I think the JB/Custom hybrid sounds a lot different than either the JB or Distortion I have in other guitars... It sounds more dynamic than the JB, but not as aggressive as the Distortion.

But... the one thing I'm really noticing is that what's really adding to the flavor of the sound is the guitar itself.

I actually read something the other day about guitar woods and their resonations, and that how the neck resonates with the body has a lot to do with the eventual sound you will get out of the instrument.

I wish I had the time to take one guitar, and try all of these pickups out in it. Then I would really be able to give a good review, but it is hard, considering the fact that I only put certain pickups in certain guitars, and that is the extent of it.

Since I live near Artie, maybe I can get him to make me some hybrids, and I'll just have a field day one day...

P.S. I think a 59/Jazz in the neck would be a perfect match for a JB hybrid in the bridge.

I'd like to hear that. It would be fun to compare it to a straight 59.

If so, I've got the 59 (son's guitar) and JB (my guitar).

As I think more about it, I realize how hypothetical the question is. Someone will just have to try it and report back.
