Hybrid question/differences between Gibson 57 and duncan 59?

I have a few Gibson 57 classics laying around and I have considered making a hybrid with a C5. I am wondering if anyone happens to know the Differences in the coils between a Gibson 57 and a Duncan 59 ?

Differences in the wire guage/coating,
Possible difference in wind,
Percived possible difference in tone?

The difference is:
Duncans are great and Gibsons are mediocre... don't sacrifice your tone... stick with Duncans

They are half destroyed already. When I got them, each had one dead coil. So, I figured, I may take one of the good coils and use it for a hybrid. BTW, I have done this surgey before and I can do it without destroying something.
