is it possible to turn down one of the coils on the duncan hybrid pickup? i was thinking i would like to make the 59 coil a lil quieter than the custom coil. im looking to pair it with the jazz neck and i think it would work better if i could turn down the 59 coil plus i like the custom a lil bit better.

You can add a spin-a split. But you are not getting closer to a custom.....just closer to a split custom.
The hybrid works because of the combo, not the individual coils.

It is already quieter, since there are less windings. As was said, a spin-a-split won't sound like a Custom (you need a real deal Custom for that) but like 1/2 of a Custom.

Try the spin-a-split mod and see how you like it. You can dial in/out as much of the 59 coil as you want...even completely out if you wish.
