Yeah i gave Drum lessons for a loong time.
If you have a concept ,remember your own problems ,and have enough time to repea some basics to show them more than perfect ,you are gonna like it.
You need patience ,since many kidz are lazy ,and you need patience when they can't learn as fast as you can teach.

Re: I decided to give guitar lesson

* A good guitar player isnt necessarily a good teacher.

* Have some kind of plan or structure to the lesson, or else you wont get anywhere with the student.

* Keep pushing the student to improve, just dont push them too far!

* This is just my opinion, but theory is really important!!! I'm sure you know this though. If they are a beginner, give them as much theory as they can stand.

I've given some lessons to my friends' siblings (not doing it at the moment though). I've enjoyed it just as much as they have i think! Had a ball doing it. So i'd recommend asking if any of your friends' siblings have bought a guitar recently.....

Re: I decided to give guitar lesson

I have to teach my bass player his parts every rehearsal.:argh: I wish he would come prepared just ONE day. He's got no excuse other than laziness left.:argh: :rocket: :argh: :rocket:

But I would think that a method book would help you out a lot. It would probably give you a lot of structure to begin with.
