I Got sent the bridge pickup instead of the neck, Question..

Hi,
I got the Seymour Duncan Pearly gates, the zebra ones,

i had them shipped to me.
they were meant to be put in the neck, and i was shipped the bridge ones.

would it be alright if I just had them installed upside down? would they then serve the same way as the REAL neck pickups would?

like say if i do put it in the neck position, is there any point in flipping it? or should i just put it in right side up?

also, will putting the bridge pickup in the neck make it sound sort of dark or fat sounding?

or should I just try and get the real neck pickups?
the sooner the answer the better because I have an appointment made with a local tech in 1 day

or what would be my best option

thank you so much

Re: I Got sent the bridge pickup instead of the neck, Question..

There is no external difference in the bridge and neck models (as long as it isn't a Trembucker), so you can install a bridge model in the neck position. However, the bridge model is wound slightly hotter than the neck model, so it will sound slightly different. If you have a bridge pickup that is hotter than the PG it will probably be OK.

Having said that, if I ordered a neck model and got sent a bridge model I'd send it back for exchange or refund. You are the customer and shouldn't have to live with the retailer's mistake.
