I has new amp on the way!

I own 35+ guitars (sadly I don't know the exact number) but only one amp! Minutes before a gig a few weeks ago my amp made no sound, still don't know why but it started working soon after. Thats when I realized I didn't even have a backup to run home to get, I never needed one! So, I decided to pick something up to get by on if need be. I've always liked Marshall tube amps and I've heard great things about the JCM900 MKIII. Sound clips and reading up on them convinced me it would fit the bill. Hot rodded JCM800ish tones with an effects loop. The "best kept secret" in the Marshall world......or so they say!

Anyway, It ships tomorrow!

......it was either this or a 5150 of some sort.

Seems like a good price.

I'm pretty happy with the DSL100, and they can be had fairly cheap.

I have Laney AOR's as a backup.

That DSL100 will never let you down. You can just hand off one of those old, rickety, good-for-nothing AORs to me. I'll dispose of it properly. I promise.

Sweet score. You know I love my 2100 MkIII.

Too bad the seller has the years of production wrong in the ad (it's actually 1990-1992) and they were sold right along side the Dual Reverbs.

Enjoy that thing.

If I had a nickel for every instance of mis-information on the bay, well you know.

Enjoy the amp metlking. It is a good amp. The handle can be replaced rather easily with parts from MarshallParts.com, PartsExpress.com, off Ebay, Tubesandmore.com, so many places.

One good thing about Marshall's, parts are pretty easy to get. ;)

Yep, I knew you liked yours and by searching Google I found your site and blogs on this amp, good reads! I knew the years he had stated were wrong but I let it go....

Yeah, whats your main amp ? I had a 900, it was pretty good, not as good as the 800, and had alittle less gain, but it was pretty darn good. I just got a new amp too, it was a Laney.

Let us know how you like it will ya ? Cheers !

Re: I has new amp on the way!

congrats! What do you play thru normally?

My main amp is a Bogner XTC. Not to say I'm having problems with it or the quaility is poor, it just wouldn't make a sound for about 20 minutes one time and I don't know why. Could be a faulty cable or tube. The incident made me realize how screwed I was if it didn't fire up, no backup!

Plus....At times I desire a more straight forward approach. The XTC will do darn near any sound but it has alot of bells a whistles to mess with!
