I hate GAS

After watching a few demos for the PRS Mira S2 I am now GASsing for one. The only hesitation I face is the use of SE parts and neck scarf joint, I guess time will attest as to the reliability of the new S2's. I like the fact that they seem like a quality made instrument and I like the fact that they are 25 scale and feature 22 frets instead of 24. Like the antique white finish.

It could take me a little more than a year to save up but in the mean time I have seen the Santana SE's go for around $500.00 used and for around $200.00 I could mod it a little and have a decent playing guitar. Or wait for a used Reverend to come around, they are scarce here.

What do you say, wait for the Mira or buy a used guitar sooner.

Re: I hate GAS

I played a seafoam green S2 Mira a week or so ago and was very impressed. There was a 'liveliness' about it, and I got some really classic tones, both clean and dirty, by just using the guitar's volume. I even forgot that it comes with a coil split! I definitely feels a cut above the SE range and I certainly didn't feel that there were elements of it that would need changing...

This is what is most attractive about it, you wouldn't need to change a thing.

BTW, what kind of nut does the S2 series come with? Well, it's all good anyway. A Graphtech Xl will fix this cheap, if needed.

Re: I hate GAS

I have a Mira 25th Ann. edition, and I have played the S2's as well. Overall I think the Mira is just a fantastic and extremely versatile guitar. I have had my Mira for about 6 months now, and I have gigged it EVERY single week since and every other guitar I have has rode the bench since I got her. The guitar is phenomenal and I am on the market for more used PRS guitars (USA) since. Save for the S2, or even better look for a used USA Mira, trust me when I say it is worth every penny. I am absolutely in love with this guitar, if I could afford another one I would buy it right now without hesitation, and then follow that with a PRS DC3 purchase.

Re: I hate GAS

I love GAS and lusting over new guitars.:)

I have a Budweiser budget and a Caviar taste. My last purchase is an Epi Special 9-90 for $89.00.

Can some body recommend locking tuner replacements or Graphtech nut dimensions?
