I killed my amp tonight

My Peavey Classic 30 that is. I was playing my Tele through a AC Booster pedal maxed gain, volume at about 5... Amp volume set to about 2 which is pretty loud for a basement room.
Then I got to thinking I'd like to see how this thing sounds at about 7 or 8. I hit a E chord. It made a mighty roar for about 2 seconds, then coughed loudly and scratchily and made some God awful popping noises, then nothing.
Tubes still glow, but no sound.
Anyway, I am wondering what I can salvage from it. I'd like to put a hand wired amp in the chassis and keep the enclosure and reverb and speaker.

That really shouldnt of blown.... I mean, I run my amp on 10 with a fuzz/distortion goosing it even further.

Re: I killed my amp tonight

Perhaps a blown tube or a resistor you cooked. I have a set of Sylvania 6ca7s w/o the guide pin for insert. In a rush I installed one of the tubes with one pin off. Blew a screen grid resistor and smelled a lovely stench... Replaced the resistor and all is fine, including the tube.. I would start with the simple stuff before declaring it DOA. Likely not the case.

Yeah, most likely a cooked resistor or tube.
