I knew this JB would come in handy one day…

After a few attempts in a few strats and others, I think it’s a winner in this V. I bought the V a couple years ago because I liked the look. But never bonded too much with it. When I got it, it had the Duncan designed 103 set in it.

I had this JB from about ‘99 or so. It’s original guitar that it was in is long gone. But I’ve hung onto it knowing that someday… and I finally made some time last night to do it.

I put this JB trembucker unaltered in the bridge. The neck is a dd hb103n with an alnico 4 I just put into it. So far I’m very happy with this.

it was my first magnet swap and I was pleased not to have run into much difficulty. Pretty easy, just patience required.

Nice. Just curious . . . how do you utilize the pipe wrench in pup swaps? :p

Actually it was a hammer for this one. That neck Duncan designed had a black metal cover on it. I used a razor blade to break the solder, and I actually did use the wrench as a hammer to nudge the blade a bit.:(:D

A4 is a great magnet for neck pickups. And I bet that the JB sounds just fine.
