I made a Alnico 8 Pro last night

I got a A8 from Wymore Guitars yesterday. It was a direct replacement size for SD but not Dimarzios. That's part of the reason I chose to put it in my LP w/ 2 Alnico II Pros(Temporarily). I placed it in the bridge position and the difference was huge. Through my Recto Roadster the A2P was kina loose and indistinct but with the A8 it turned into a metal monster. It was tight, bright(but not overly) tons of harmonics, nice bass and much more powerful but being a low powered pu to begin with it was still open sounding, not very compressed. There were no weird sounds. This may not be THE pu but it's a good start experimenting with Alnico 8's. I may try a C8 or PG8 next.

It should fit a DiMarzio too. 2.5" x 0.5" x 0.125" is standard humbucker (and P90) magnet size.

It was very close. The double row of hex screws going through the bottom plate wouldn't allow the coils to expand causing a slight gap between the coils on top. If I removed one side of screws it might have worked. The replacement A8 was about 1/4 inch longer and just a hare wider. Which was a exact match for the SD.
