I was wondering what a good pickup for this situation is. I'm planning on getting an alexi laiho signature when they come out(an ltd obviously, I'm not made of money) . This guitar has an alder body, and maple neck thru neck, and an ebony fret board. That all adds up to a lot of treble and mids, without a lot of bass. That good for me, because I like a lot of smooth cut, and good deffinition, without any muddiness. It comes with an emg hz4 pup, which I'll most likely replace with a duncan, seeing as I've been very happy with the jb and jazz in the dv8r I've got. I'm looking for a pup with a lot of clarity, but not too bright for that guitar's woods. The best thing I've seen so far is the duncan custom. Described as having a lot of mid range and high end cut, the eq curve appears to have quite a bit of balls to it as well. But I'm worried that the treble rating at 9, going thru a 5150 which is a very bright amp added to the guitar's natural brightness will be too much. So I ask you, will the custom have enough bass to accomidate these settings, and if not, what will, but still give me the pronounced mid range and treble I like for a cutting tone?
