I need Floyd help

So I don't need anymore guitars, I have an 18 month old, one more in the oven, and no time to play. So naturally I put in a single bid on this and won. It's getting a washed blue dye job- white korina/maple. Im snowed in here and have been reading/obsessing over this for two days. I've never shopped for a Floyd before and YIKES. I'm going with either an original, schaeller, or gotoh. The only consensus I can find is that gotoh seems to be the most favorable as of late. Whatever I buy will get a brass block. Is there any difference btw these brands? Or am I over thinking the whole thing.

Was the body routed for an Original Floyd, Schaller or Gotoh?

That really will decide it for you.

Once I know that, I can advise further.

The description stated it was Floyd routed. As far as I know, ofr and schaeller use the same route. Gotoh would require widening the opening in the top only.

They don't. The OFR and the Schaller are about 85% the exact same parts but the baseplate and the route is a different shape. Shame I haven't actually tried the Gotoh yet. The OFR, Schaller and the Gotoh all come with brass blocks stock, just not exactly jumbo sized ones.
