Has anybody done this mod to make their crybaby true-bypass? I don't like mine because when the wha is "off" it really thins out the tone. I am a novice at electronics but I've been able to install pickups before so this should just be the next step. I want to know what I need to do. Is it as simple as replacing the SPDT with a DPDT and resoldering the 3 wires (green , blue and purple)?

http://www.j.philpott.com/effectronics/ This site has the Schematics link which shows a lot of information
thanks for any help ,

John

John,

It is kinda easy, and easy enough for a beginner. I cant open the link, but follow the diagram, it isnt hard.

Thanks Thames, I figure it is pretty easy but I wasn't sure that all I need to do is unsolder 3 wires, take out the SPDT replace with a DPDT and resolder the 3 wires. If that's the case I think this will be a breeze!
I won't have the time to do the mod until the weekend but when I do I'll post here about how it well it turns out.

its not that easy, you have to cut one of the traces on the pc board, solder a new lead onto the copper trace and then rewire the spdt to a dpdt. it's still not that hard though

Cutting the traces is one option, desoldering the buffer components is another. I prefer to desolder the buffer components.

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/s.castledine/greenfuz/wah.html is a great site too.

I rerouted the battery wires to a killswitch i installed on the side and made it true bypass in the process. only hard part about it was drilling for the killswitch.

Oh yeah.. I didnt realize.. I performed this mod on my V847 in which you dont need to cut trace and/or remove components...
