I need help with pick sliding

is there a certain type of pick i need or is there some secret technique that no one is telling me? could someone just explain to me the art of pick sliding

Re: I need help with pick sliding

You slide your pick down the strings at a 90 degree angle... it sounds way better on the thicker wound strings (E+A IMO). If I do it I always do it going towards the neck

Thicker picks work better too :)

Re: I need help with pick sliding

Oh yeah, you need loads of delay and you have to end on a power chord. Those are the only rules

Re: I need help with pick sliding

I always use a Jim dunlop stubby> make's quite a few tecniques easier (pain in the butt for strumming though!!!) :smack:

I was shown this really cool trick years ago >>> try tapping with a pick by holding the pick against the string & tensing your arm so it goes into spasm!!!>>>>> instant mettalica ONE solo!!!!

Sad but true??!!!

Re: I need help with pick sliding

Thats called pick tapping I think

First time I ever heard it was in Satch's surfing solo - I didn't know what was going on.. I thought he had some kind of pneumatic fingers :laugh2:
