I need some soldering help

I just bought my iron last week and I have been practicing. It's alot easier than I thought it would be. The parts came today from warmoth (new volume pot, 3 way toggle switch, on/on/on mini switch, and output jack). I want to wire the 3 way toggle switch to function as a kill switch. Do I need to solder a wire to the "kill side" and then to ground or can I just leave the wire off altogether? Also on the 3 way toggle, is the single lug on the opposite side of all the other lugs the ground point?

And, IYO what is the best technique for soldering two wires to the same point, like on the mini switch?

I pressume that by "kill switch" you mean a "mute" switch?

But won't using your toggle switch that way (fast motion, or repetativeness) wear it out faster, or possibly even break it?!!

Instead of modding the existing switch on my Tele, my local guitar tech installed an extra small button on the control plate that cuts off the sound when pressed. It is effin' awesome!!

Modified SD diagram for a kill switch.
Note: Signal should be shorted to ground, not opened (creates noise)

Just connect both wires to the lug on the mini switch, then solder them. That's all there is to it.
