I need some wiring ideas

I have two push-pull pots and I've been using them for split coil, but since I changed pickups I stopped using the split coil option.

So now i'm thinking i could use the push pull pots for something else and this is were I need your help.

I've got:
- two humbuckers (one of them is a Cool Rails) they both have 4 wires,
- two push-pull pots and a master tone
- 3 way switch like the ones on Les Paul for example.

Any ideas?

There's only a certain number of things you can do with a push-pull. You can split two pups, put one into parallel, put two in series with each other, or reverse the phase of one. You could also select between two different tone caps. I've done this on my Jetking, although I don't really use it very often.

You could switch to a preset tone setting, add in an L-pad, (drops the volume).

Those are a few things.

Edit: One more . . . use with a stereo output jack to switch between two amps, or send the output to a tuner.

Why don't try the 4-sounds wiring that Frank proposed on the thread of the P-Rails pickups?

Shortly:
If both pots are DOWN, your pickups will act as regular humbuckers (coils in series).
If one pot is UP, your pickups will split to the inside coils.
If the other pot is UP instead, your pickups will split to the outside coils.
If both pots are UP, your pickups will act as noiseless single-coils (coils in parallel).

Other suggestions:
- Use one of them to obtain both humbuckers in series.
- Use the other to do out-of-phasing.

If both are UP you will get a very very interesting sound under distortion.

wow that's sounds really nice.
Is there a diagram available?
I just don't get one thing when you say split to the outside/inside coils does it mean bridge outside/inside coil + neck outside/inside coil or just one pickup outside/inside coil?

Thanks sounds really interesting

Muchisimas gracias hermetico!
I finally got it, and you're right that's an extremely smart wiring, I'll do it.
My description is a bit confusing, I have two volume pots and a tone pot, both volumes are push pull.
