I require preamp tube suggestions...

Orright, I've been putting this one off for a while....

In the 3 or so years ive owned my little mesa studio.22 combo, i'm yet to fiddle with the preamp tubes.

I'm looking to be able to get more clean headroom on the clean channel, and a little less gain on the distorted channel.....without losing volume, if that makes sense

Would a change of preamp tubes/new tubes help?

The tubes are all stock (i'm pretty sure), apart from an electro harmonix 12ax7 in the 1st slot (closest to input)

So please suggest a change of preamp tubes!
