I swapped some pole pieces.

I have reading on here about all the mods you guys do so thought I'd try something i am comfortable with, I'm not quite ready for magnet swapping but thought pole piece swapping is something i could handle.

I swapped the screw poles from a Distortion with the hex poles from a Full Shred & vice versa & was blown away with the results, i didn't expect it to make as much difference as it has.

Distortion - I find that it to have a lot more treble & kinda scooped(think 80s Anthrax) I like the treble boost but find it a little harsh but i play with it for a while to see if i like it.

Full Shred - I love the way this sounds, it seems to have a lot more authority & more mids.

Cosmetically the Distortion looks bad as & the Full Shred looks like?? well a Screaming Demon.

Thanks to you guys for the tip of reversing the screw before screwing in, saved me from any mishaps.

Yep polepieceswapping is fun. If you put the hex screw side of the SH-6 pointing to the neck, its a little be less piercing. i also like hexes only on the bass side of the pickup. My Screaming Demon A8 with 3 Hexes really looks weird but sound godly.

Love the Demon. Haven't tried it with an A8 because it is in the neck right now. But it's a great pup.

Anyone know where to get replacement screws/hex poles? As a matter of fact, some Invader style caps would be awesome. I really have no idea where to find them or what size to get though.

Good question, i would like to know as well just in case i want to change my Distortion back but i want to leave the Fullshred as is cause it's awesome now.:headbang:
