I recently purchased a used Silver Lake reverb off Reverb.com and I've had it -- working -- for a couple of weeks.
This evening I was trying to get my midi controller to communicate with the pedal and I was having no luck, and in trying to fix it, I did the following:
1. Plugged it into my computer and opened the Seymour Duncan Update Tool
2. Verified that the midi channel was the one I was sending commands to
3. Backed up the presets
4. Looked for a way to eject the device and when I didn't find one, I simply unplugged the USB cable from the pedal
5. I don't remember exactly why, but I plugged the USB cable back into the pedal and I got a "not recognized" message on my computer. Crap...
6. Incorrectly remembered the order of operations and while the pedal was powered on but not connected to my computer I used a paper clip to press the Factory Reset button.
The pedal went black. All the LEDs turned off.
7. I unplugged the pedal and found a PDF manual for the device and double checked the factory reset instructions and realized what I did.
8. I then followed the factory reset steps: while the pedal was unplugged, I pressed the Factory Reset button, plugged the device in, and released the button.
The pedal is still completely unresponsive.
Interestingly, when I have the power supply connected to the pedal and I connect the pedal to my computer via USB, I get the "not recognized" message. When the pedal is disconnected from the power supply, I do not get that message (as expected).. That tells me SOMETHING is happening in there... it's not fully bricked.
Are there any steps I can take to fix it? Is it possible for me to bring the pedal to a Seymour Duncan verified repair shop, or send it to SD, to have the whole thing factory reset?
Or am I just shit out of luck, with a completely dead pedal?
