F-ing algorithms.

Plus i have to do 500 mile searches just for guitars to show up.

The algorithm is programmed to show you similar items and items people with similar search parameters as you bought. It is also looking at your search history so the more Epiphones you see the more it will show you. Yes, it is pretty dumb smart technology. My computer clears all of those trackers and cookies automatically every night and scans for potential nasty bits.

This. It's a well used "publicity" stunt in the classified pages here in Portugal.

Exactly. People think if they call it a Gibson Epiphone it'll reach more eyes, and theoretically be more likely to sell.
Same way, nowadays a Fender search often will return lots of Squiers.

As long as the search text doesn't support a syntax to exclude words ("-word" on ebay and google) it is useless.

I see that a lot with products that are not even affiliated with the company. "Gibson style pickups" or "Strat style tremelo" come up a lot. Usually, if it is "style" it is garbage. There are so many Strat-style bodies on eBay and Facebook that are barely worthy of being firewood it makes my head spin.

Epiphones are almost always cheaper so sort by price to find Gibsons faster.

IMHO, the difference between a Gibson and an Epiphone is a $1000 bucks. Get the EPI. Call it a day.
