I want to scare little kiddies with my guitar tone.

Well, I've come to the conclusion that I'm missing having the in your face metal rhythm tone, and since my RG 570 should be up and running again by next week, I want to swap out the stock bridge pup in it for something that will just scream.

I'm looking at the following:

Distortion bridge TB6
Distortion trembucker PATB2b
Dimebucker SH13

All I'm looking for really is something that will snarl and sound like it's gonna rip my face off when playing rhythm. Agressive, but not mushy. It must sound tight because I don't want my palm mutes to sound flabby in any way...

I already have a guitar which I'm very happy with for recording my solo's, and one with nice cleans so they aren't really considerations. This is assuming I get my PC to work again :smack: I've kinda comandeered the other PC atm lol...

Any other brands to reccomend would be greatly appreciated, but I dunno how easily I'll be able to buy them on this forum s/h :laugh2:

well... you need a good amp 1st and foremost as all those pups can scare children equally through.. lets say a.... ENGL Powerball

LOL! I made a clip, but broke my V-amp in the process.. oh, well.. Just when I was about to tweaka good patch for recording, the power cord broke.. Well, i'll just upload the clip and you'll get some idea of the pickup..

Oh, then the actual review of the pickup..
I can compare it with two other pickups, the Ibanez stock V8 and a Duncan designed HB-103 (or something, supposedly the copy of DD). I don't have much memories of the V8, but it wasn't as clear as the HB-103 so I changed that years ago.. The PATB2 does everything the HB-103 did for me, and more. It added, to my surprise, some sutain and improved the overall string balance. It also helped me cut trough more, and gave some nice harmonics, while maintaining the attitude needed for palm muting, although I miss something in that dept.
Overall, a great pu for my Ibanez. I'll see what a JB does to a SG when i get the money..
