Oh, I've dallied with other pickups. Handwounds, production models, custom winds, and while I like many of them, they just don't have that "me" sound you do.
You're muddy, harsh, and not very pretty sounding, but dammit, so am I. No one else has your mix of alnico stringiness and fat, woody lower mid focus, oddly sweet top end, and brutal thud. I've even had two very popular custom winders try to replicate your profile, but as good as they sound, I keep coming back to you.
A2 is sweeter, and ceramics tighter, but I just can't find another that does what you do. I think it's time I accept that.
