Ibanez 2671 Professional SD choise

Hi everyone,
I am intending to replace the Super 80's (~8.4 output???) in my '79 Ibanez Randy Scruggs Professsional. LP style ash body, maple neck with ebony fingerboard.
The bridge Super 80 sounds thin, without definition, somewhat microphonic. The neck position does satisfy certain ranges, however lacks definition and maybe output. I play various styles (Hendrix to Perfect Circle etc.) , would like to acquire all-round pickups considering the ash/maple body & neck.

My initial choise was JB/59, not so sure how JB or Duncan Custom sound in ash bodywith maple neck???. The tone wizard recommends SH-14 and SH-11 for bridge and PG and APII for neck.
Is it possible to match the neck Super 80 with any of the SD mentioned above in bridge position???
Your opinions /reccomendations are greatly appreciated
Thanks

Re: Ibanez 2671 Professional SD choise

Hi Welcome to the forum... I am not sure if ypou wld like top go in for the JB / 59 or Duncan Custom... Maybe Cutom 5 or and 59... Also u may need to modify ur pickup routes in ur guitar a bit for the Duncans to fit in.. Most Ibanez have their routes for the pickups a bit Triangular shaped where the pickups mount..( the Dimarzio pickups are triangular chaped at the mounts)... Where as the Duncans are rectangular shaped... Good luck . I use a Jb and love it...I play Blues to Hard rock... But again it depends a lot in what wood ur puting it into.....
