Ibanez Barrel jack considered stereo/Blackout install HELP!

The stereo jack is too short for my S series, is the barrel jack that has three prongs just as good or considered a stereo jack?:banghead:

Has anybody ran into this issue? Couldn't find anything in search mode

As long as the jack is stereo you can use it. It doesn't matter which style it is. The trick is, you want to make sure you use the correct terminals. This is one of those case where checking with a meter with a cable plugged in is a Godsend.

yes, the ibby's barrel jack is stereo.

Yup - you're fine. Use the hot and ground terminals for the Blackout hot and ground wires, and use the empty one for the battery.

Is there any specs on the barrell jacks pins, i hate having to do trial and error.

Okay... i got it working and the BO's set is installed per plan for now. I'm noticing the bridge is got some good hum and the Neck pup is pretty quiet...hence the bridge pup being pretty hot, maybe this is why u swapped pups?

Neither should be humming... check for grounding issues. Make sure you disconnected the ground wire from the bridge to the pots.

Yeah, the bridge pickup is way too hot to be useful IMO. I preferred the neck pickup in both the neck and bridge positions.

Hey runner,
I've run into this same issue, what guit do have?
I'm trying to wire up my Ibanez MTM2 with BLACKOUTS and am having problems....let me know how you solved the issue.
