Ibanez IBZ V1 h/bucker DC resistance

can not find any info on this subject - recently purchased online one of these from a 1989 "whatever" model advertised as being in "excellent condition"
measures 5.2k on my meter .. seems pretty low to me

hopefully some one can tell me if this is within an acceptable range or should i just rebox it and send it back

that seems low. i had one in my old rg550 and i really liked it. i believe they usually read around 10k so you might be reading only one coil. what are the wire colors and what are you checking to get that resistance?
