Was excited to see the Nita Strauss Ibanez signature guitar unveiled at NAMM this year, I think she's one of the most exciting guitarists to come out in recent years and reminds me of when I started to learn guitar in the early 90's listening to Iron Maiden, Satriani, Vai and Paul Gilbert. Back when folks weren't afraid to straight up shred and unleash high energy instrumental rock and metal songs with melodic guitar leads and soaring and intelligible vocals. Her live work with Alice Cooper is awesome. I've always been interested in the Ibanez S series and the Jiva looks great and like the description of the balance of the guitar, so i headed over to the Ibanez website to learn more, but nothing. Not listed under the signature models. Hmmmm. Ok so i went over to Dimarzio to find out about her signature Pandemonium pickups. Nothing on the Dimarzio site either.
Don't want to rant or be negative about any manufacturers, i love Ibanez and Dimarzio (and Seymour Duncan of course) and am not trying to troll etc, but honestly if you are going to endorse a female artist in todays still very much male dominated guitarist environment, go ahead and put her front and center along with your other artists. Who knows, you may sell more guitars and pickups and encourage more folks to learn to play guitar.
