Just got this baby in a couple days ago and it's definitely a handful. It's got a lot of features and they all work independently of each other. You can turn on(and off) the distortion, 5 band parametric EQ, pre boost, post boost and noise gate can all be used together or independently and with the use of a tap pedal everything is also switchable with the tap adding the operation of the 5 band and the pre boost. I'll start off by saying that this is definitely a high gain pedal! I barely got it above noon with the gain till it was too much for me. At very low gain settings it's more tube screamer like and very quickly turns up the heat. I don't think there is any kind of music that you couldn't use this for, seriously! The noise gate works well and is very tameable. The pre boost can cut the overall signal and boost it where as the post boost can only boost the overall signal (starts at unity gain) and the 5 band parametric EQ can be very helpful and can be turned on and off. Each band can be boosted or cut by 10db with the first band ranging from 30-100, 2nd band goes from 85-360, 3rd band goes from 200-1.3K, 4th band goes from 620-4K, and the 5th band goes from 1.5K-15.5K. Everything here can be used independently which I think is the best feature. This can be a very good tool for anyone looking for any of the 4 different effects housed here and it's a crazy value too coming in at $249! I'm very satisfied with my purchase and will be using this mainly for the 5 band parametric EQ and the noise gate, occasionally the distortion and this has a permit place on my board now. Nice job Ibanez I wasn't expecting this one!
