Ibanez prestige vs esp ltd

Hey guys, for the past months i been saving for a prestige guitar. but recently i saw some pretty nice esp ltds on sweetwater, some worth 800 to 999 bucks..
looking at the specs and some youtube videos it really got my attention, but when i saw that they are made indonesia i got shocked because of the price! i really though they where made in Japan or USA.. but those are worth more than 2,000!! now that i know what an LTD is, do they have the same quality , care etc.. as an ibanez prestige?? this the ibanez https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RG655MWH and this is the LTD https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LM1001STBLK

another question i have, probably i already asked before and im sorry lol.. is it really worth it spending all that much?? i almost have the money lol.. my old teacher recommended me to spend in a good guitar because of the wood and it will last me for years.. and a less expensive guitar will fall apart during time etc.. now another friend says , get a cheap rg, like the rg350dx or 450dx.. a good set up and it will stay in tune.. im like stuck and cant decide lol just wanna hear more opinions and see what my final decision will be haha .. thanks..

i been using an ibanez gio and epiphone les paul 100 for 4 years.. really got into guitar 6 years ago. havent made any modification to the guitars.. still use the stock pickups..

Re: Ibanez prestige vs esp ltd

I prefer the slightly wider boards and better fret material/work on the prestiges,,,,,,,but I do like the OFR designs better than the edge-pros(even the ofr 1000-series).

Re: Ibanez prestige vs esp ltd

Of those two choices, the Ibanez is the clear winner.

The Premium line from Ibanez is built in the Indonesian plant and more of a direct comparison to the LTD line.

However, there are some excellent deals to be had in the preowned market. Pretty much any 500 series RG with have the same appointments as the one you linked.

Example I randomly searched for (no affiliation or comment on seller or price)

Re: Ibanez prestige vs esp ltd

Have you been high on acid again? Comparing Prestige with LTD is like comparing 2017 Lambo Aventador to 1978 Corolla, dafuq?!!!

Lol i want to know why the ltd is expensive.. Sorry dont know much about guitars.. What i think, inst the same thing if i get a standard Rg and put the same hardware and electronics from a prestige in it? Wood is wood no?

Re: Ibanez prestige vs esp ltd

The seller might be fishing in a murky water.

Basically if you change the hardware and pickups of a standard RG with premium ones you'll get the same thing, except that warm feeling of holding a respected model and the plush hard case; and the silky baby's butt feel of the back of the neck.

Soon some dope will chastise me for not being sensitive on how a Prestige is a light years ahead from the regular one in terms of tone, sustain and mojo...lol.

Plenty of reputable sellers. Most retail stores have an online presence, and a liberal return policy.

You can always ask here if you suspect something is not legit.

Re: Ibanez prestige vs esp ltd

I like the prestige most but the main reason being is i hate the LTD logo.

It always makes me think of my family's big brown late-70s Ford ltd from back when I was a kid in the 80s,,,,,,,many a long road-trip in that big old boat!

Re: Ibanez prestige vs esp ltd

Having played both, the LTD Deluxe line is very close in quality to the Prestige, and at least a few hundred dollars cheaper. Decision would really come down to your individual preference, since LTD's use EMG's alot and and handful of Duncans, wheras it's usually Dimarzio's on the Ibanez
