Re: Ibanez Rg 321

My friends got one, I do like the tone, and it has Powersounds, upgrade to Duncans and you have a wicked sounding guitar.

One issue I had with was with the feel of the back of the neck, you know how sometimes - they feel all glossy, and sometimes, they feel like paper?

Come on MSN btw :p

Re: Ibanez Rg 321

Ive heard good things and love the feel of those necks, but then i am biased, coz i love RG's.

It will hav a VERY thin neck, so make sure you are ok with that first, also to get the best from it you will almost certainly need to upgrade the pickups. The other thing that may put you off is that from my experience basswood dents VERY easily.

If you are ok with all of the above, i'd say go try one out and definately consider buying, looks like a good price too.

yup, thin neck's not a problem..i have skinny fingers :laugh2:

i have no problem basswood denting..my strat's all scratched up anyway :)

i'd better try one out at a guitar shop and order it from zz sounds. i don't wanna pay 20-30% more here.

Re: Ibanez Rg 321

Unless you have your heart set on a brand new axe, I think you should buy an older used RG. I picked up a used, dinged up RG570 from Guitar Center for $175. I regularly see Japanese RG470s for under $300. Your money will go a lot further this way.

Re: Ibanez Rg 321

Sorry, I didn't read very closely which RG you wanted. If you want a hard tail, that does change things, as most of the used stuff is gonna be Floyds. However, you still oughta check ebay. An RG470FX (FX is the old designation for fixed bridge) just went for like $150! :saeek:
