A pawn shop here in Phoenix has a MINT Black one of these for $699.00 with case, all paperwork and strap.

I saw these sell on eBay for at least 200 dollars more... I can hook you up with the manager if interested.

That is pretty nice. Maple or rosewood?

The black came with Rosewood, and in order to get red or yellow, you had to take black. Ibanez Rules was blowing out the black models from day one for $699 vs $899 for the red or yellow.

to me if it isnt a maple board it is not a true 550! i dont know WHY ibanez did that!:thumbsdow

Well the 550 did come with a RW board, it just was not that common. Just like you see a 570 with a maple board every now and then.

Ah yeah you're right. I knew the RW were cheaper.

It is a Rosewood FB... the Wizard neck profile is not my cup of tea, but when looking at completed eBay auctions it seems like a great deal and would be an easy flip!. The guys at this shop are generous with pricing for items I want, however, it is not in my character to buy with the intention to re-sell from said friends... leads to bad Karmah... It could likely be had for $599.00 plus shipping

I sold my Mutt Desert Sun Yellow Saber with a Maple Board to a friend many years ago... Sweeeeet axe... wish I could get it back! Made In Japan = Great Tone in the late 80's/early 90's
