Ibanez SZ320 or Peavey Signature HP

Anybody play either one of these? I've decided on these 2, just not which one. The Ibanez is about 130 cheaper which could mean new pickups if I so desired. However the Peavey is really sharp looking, and I've heard that the pickups are quite good for being stock. The only negative about the Peavey is that it is a 24 fret guitar ( which I am not used to ), and it's 25 frets on a 24 3/4 scale, so the neck pickup is pushed back. I've played both, just for not too long, so anybody with some imput, please do. Oh, by the way, I play mostly bluesly classic rock stuff, nothing too heavy, through a Fender Cyber Deluxe and a TS9 tube screamer.

I preffer the neck design on the Peavey to that of the Ibanez (the Ibanez is too flat for my tastes), but the Peavey's body is much smaller than what I like. That being said, the Peavey that I played did sound richer and thicker than the Ibanez, though that might be attributable to the pickups in each axe.

I have the Peavey and it smokes IMO. I've gone through many guitars looking for the right one to fit my hands and the Peavey is it. The string spacing is nice and tight and I like the short scale length. Not to mention the upper fret access is amazing for a set-neck guitar. The stock pickups are good although I'm experimenting with others at the moment. The ebony fretboard is nice too....very dark and smooth. I got rid of a Jackson Soloist to get this and I like this more actually.

I think the thing I like most about it is that it really covers a lot of ground. It has the great upper fret access and 24 frets for all kinds of lead work. But on the rhythm stuff it sounds somewhat like a Les Paul because of the short scale length. Just ergonomically it fits me.

Here's a picture with my crummy camera:

the Ibanez SZ models sport a C-profile neck, IMO that's substantially not flat... it's also not the skinny RG profile, in fact it's a departure from the Wizard neck profiles.

try both then decide... :)

I played a Peavey HP at a local music store. I must say that I think very highly of it. The guitar played like a guitar that you would spend 4 times the amout of $ on. The neck reminded me of the 50's gibson neck. The guitar was set up perfectly. I would say, the Peavey HP has to be the best bang for the buck in guitars. I would say, GET ONE!!!
