Identify this Fender played by Kat Dyson

Gearjoneser

Gear Ho
I actually met Prince/Cindi Lauper guitarist Kat Dyson at the 2011 SD User Group day and she's super cool, so if I have no luck I suppose I could contact her.

I just watched a Cindi Lauper concert, and saw Kat playing a sweet blue Fender solid/chambered acoustic electric that sounded amazing. It looked decked out with a modeling system or just a really good pickup. I've always wanted a Taylor of this style, but Kat's acoustic strat has me jonesing. But, what is it?

That's a pretty cool looking guitar. It even has an acoustic guitar type of bridge which I never really saw on an electric type of guitar before.

Just my luck....this guitar is rare to find, as it was only produced in 2003/4.
It's a MIM, so it can be bought for less than it's original price of $999.....if you can find one. It gets higher ratings than all the similar ones that came out later.

I think I still have her phone number somewhere.

Kramer Ferringtons are reportedly awesome as well, but have the obtrusive "acoustic hole" that puts many people off.

And the Sleeper Hit is the Charvette from the early 90s. Most Charvette electrics were of low quality, but they somehow managed to nail the thinline acoustilectric.

Over the years, I've looked at electric sized acoustics with piezos, and most of them are pretty underwhelming.

I think Fender may have had a real winner, but didn't continue with it.

This Deluxe Acoustasonic Stratocaster was built just right, if you look at the specs.

It's a shame that they discontinued it, because I heard Kat Dyson playing it, probably plugged into a good acoustic amp, and was convinced the minute I heard it.
I know it's just three piezos on six strings, but the body construction is a first for Fender, and others didn't do it the same way.

Kat played it, and I heard it. I only pay attention when it sounds right. Fender might have really screwed up by discontinuing this rare gem.
