If You Guys were Using........ Possible Pickup Replacement.

Hey guys, I've created a few threads concerning pickups I'm thinking of using in my Schecter. Yeah, the guitar sounds great as is; but why are we here? We're here because, even if our guitars sound great, we always wonder, "What if I install this pickup?" Sometimes, it sounds better, sometimes it doesn't. We have to try, right? I decided to try the Duncan Pickup Finder. From my choices of music styles, guitar makeup, etc. the one setup it gave me was:

Neck: Alnico 2 Pro Strat model
Middle: Alnico 2 Pro Strat model
Bridge: Pearly Gates

That combo sounds interesting to me. I actually have two Alnico 2 Pro Strat pickups. I don't have a Pearly Gates bridge pickup. I have a Pearly Gates neck pickup. I do, however, have a Hades Gates Trembucker. My guitar has a 500k master volume and 500k master tone pots. I was also thinking of replacing the 500k pots with 250k. What are your thoughts about all that?

That looks like a fine set to me, but I don't know if it will give you something that 'better' than what you have. Another good option on the neck & middle is the Five Two, which keeps the A2 on the G, B, & E strings, while A5 is on the lower strings.

I have used the 5-2 before. That was back when it called the Nashville Studio model. I had it in the bridge pickup of a Telecaster. Nice pickup. I'm thinking Alnico 2 Pro Strat pickups. They're probably my favorite Strat pickups. If I use a Hades Gates or Pearly Gates in the bridge position, I'm probably going to move to 250k pots.

250k pots would be a good idea. I like the PG with 250k pots.
