I'll Be Fine...

Re: I'll Be Fine...

Great original piece dude, I mean for my taste I would get loose a lot more, but I see what you were trying to do, AMAZING TONE, tell us now what you used! It does not sound like a strat to me, something LPish? its got the LPish coldness to it. From what I know you dont use a sustainer, and it did not sound like it either, so whad gear did you use? I really dig the rythm guitar part, like that agressive rock-funk of sorts thing going. Did you use your V-Twin by any chance?

Yeah, I was deliberately trying to contain the energy to build the tension. You got it!

This one was actually a '78 Ibanez Silver Series "Lawsuit" Strat. I'm using a technique that combines E-Bow and slide...I call it "slidebow!"

You've got good ears bro, it was indeed the V-Twin!

Aha that's why picked up a "metalic vibe" of LP because of slide and I have not been able to pick ebow as I did not listen to it much, but I did not think it was a sustainer, because of guys like you here I am learning a lot about gear and tone more than ever did in 15 years of playing before I got here. This piece is really tastefull, mature and original piece of music. God I want one of those Lawsuit strats and the the ones from 82-85 eras as well, if you don't mind what type of wood is the body of that strat made of ? Great work man, you should do more of this stuff.

Re: I'll Be Fine...

Wow. That was some refreshing stuff. Very nice! Thanks for sharing.

Re: I'll Be Fine...

Nice approach. The 'flatline' sounding thing at the end was a a nice touch. I think you could have held it out for longer for even more effect. Good stuff lately, man.

Thanks Ocifer, I appreciate that. I hear ya on the "flatline" at the end, I had a few more seconds of it recorded, but I chickened out on making it really sonically disturbing! I played it to my 12 year old son, and he looked at me during the flatline like "Ok, the old man's lost it..." And of course, that was the point! Thanks again for listening.

Re: I'll Be Fine...

Wish you were closer, love to jam!!

Yeah dude, I second that....jam, record, kick up some dust. I've got a bunch of frequent flyer points and I've never been to the States...hmmm...food for thought there.
